HORRIBLE UI (Vent here 😠)

Am I blind? I can’t seem to see the submit response button… The send at the bottom is for my feedback.

I suppose the send button is for everything (survey + text feedback)?

Not as far as I can tell - that send button didn’t even pop up until I clicked the arrow thing above the section (in frustration, hoping it was just a badly designed submit button). When I click that send button only the feedback section disappears.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Upcoming interface changes to the Game page and AI reviews

This one is it:

(ā€œSend feedbackā€ is the hover text if you hover the mouse pointer over that white arrow)

No. If I understood correctly, and I could be wrong, this button only displays another comment box and only if you wrote something in the comment box you can click on a blue ā€˜send’ button under it.

@trohde I took it also to mean ā€œSend feedback about sending feedbackā€, not about the main survey

Oh… now I’m confused …

You might be right … I thought that the ā€œSend feedbackā€ button already sent it, and that the comment box allowed for additional feedback.

Ok. Im also confused and you could be right. :joy:

Confusing UI

Yeah, this submit function was kind of a swing and a miss. Still unclear if my responses were submitted. :person_shrugging:

But the effort to solicit feedback is greatly appreciated!

I have separate browser bookmarks for each of my games,
so I never need the next game button.

i mostly like the new UI overall, but i consider less than ideal that when watching a game broadcast, player names and colors and newest chat messages are so far apart they require scrolling on my 1080p display. i consider the two items the most important, while using the controls in the middle only rarely. perhaps fixing the name panel on the top, outside of the scrolling area would be better

EDIT: i’ve discovered i can resize the commentary textarea and the game tree to make the whole UI fit. but i would still prefer this not to be needed

This is actually not a rant, just an observation. The thing that troubles me with the new layout is that there’s a vast unused space on the lefthand side, while things are scrunched up on the right. I am aware that I have an obscenely low res display. I’m also aware that there’s an option to put chat on the left, but that reduces the board size.

As a very rough cut and paste, here’s an alternative use of the lefthand space…

As I said, it’s not a complaint—just checking it’s not mental inertia causing the player boxes to be in the top right (because that’s where they’ve always been).

Hope they won’t get the idea of putting ads there for filling up the space…

(Hey that’s my game :slightly_smiling_face:)

Putting player cards on the left is not common, but why not, after all Pandanet puts one of the player cards on the left:

Why not put the players cards vertically on the left, and the controls and chat box on the right?
