That would probably be too much trouble. It is not just an aesthetic change like, for example, the colour of the stones or the boards, but the whole positioning of the UI. Thatās not easily togglable nor is it easy to maintain two UIs.

As a mainly mobile player my only request is making the layout have players on the top and not separated by the board. Feels and looks too chess.com esque
I think simply is change nothing. New UI make me hard to play on PC, I can see the timer and chat at the same time. This also trouble to use any tools or to review a game.
Hello, I completely agreeāthe interface is extremely inconvenient, especially on tablets. The chat button is placed way too close to the turn-scrolling button, which constantly causes accidental misclicks. It used to be separate, making the site a thousand times easier to use.
Please add an option to choose the design ourselvesāyour customization is usually very flexible. At the very least, allow users to switch between the old and the new layout since the new one is completely unergonomic.
Also sadly the drawing tool in analysis does not work correctly any longer on mobile. I try to draw sometimes it does then stops or only makes dots or parts of lines. Very odd

It feels so awkward to use while Iām playing. Iām not familiar with this new interface.
Whatās worse, I mistook the Resign button for Undo! I lost a game I definitely wouldāve won! And I canāt get my rank back!
FIRSTLY, i have seen ZERO and i say ZERO message or update about the UI before being forced to use it, wtf. I dont even know what are the changes, where are the new stuff now, how does it work, etc..
I click the āWhatās newā and all i have is a post about āComputer games are no longer rankedā from Apr 23, 2026. I feel like for such a huge change, a news or some message would be great explaining the changes, where and why etc.. so i can least try and understand the philosophy behind it. I can hardly relate or have any form of comapssions to anything since this has been shoved and forced with nothing signaling the change. Even an email would have been great, itās not every day u change ur entire UI.
Some small issues but problematic for me:

I dont always play in Zen mode but it happens a lot yet i dont want all my game to start in Zen mode. I used to be able in a simple click to activate it, now i need to move my mouse, select the gear and then click on the Zen button. If i leave it, i need to redo the entire operationsā¦ Just super bad. The game of Go is about being Zen, undistracted, i feel like hiding the Zen button is a bad thing, it should be accessible in a click like before.

Likewise, such an important button as the Undo button needs also two click to access itā¦ This could be fine but with all teh UI being shoved in my throat and no news, i dont have any patience or even sympathy sadly..

What is going on with the AI review ? I used to have the numbered move and while i do enjoy the new color coded points, i dont have the number of sequence moves anymore
Just dont force things down people throat, it is awfull. Sry for the rant but it is hard to be sympathetic when this is forced and i had zero news or head ups about it. Explain the changes, why u thought this could be good, what ur data told u and why u decided to do this or that. As i dev and player, i could try and understand the idea and think about it why it is bad or good, even bring productive insights maybe. Now im just mad, no news and all i want is to go back to the old UI which was 1000 time more intuitive
PS: Good luck, i will try to not rant anymore than i already did or say anythind bad. I discovered that this is a small team and things can be hard. Good luck and i hope u guys dont get burn out or influenced by the negativity too much. It just was a really bad move to shove an entire UI revamp with no warning or heads or explanation, that is all. Best of luck
I donāt understand why you wanted to press the Undo-Button. Can you explain this?

Because I didnāt believe myself, I failed to see that I had the ability to deal with it even if I made a mistake. In fact, that undo was surely unnecessary.
I understand. I think there is more to learn there.
You said you made a mistake. So that is not the place for an Undo.
If you make a mistake, you should live with it. An Undo is for misclicks.
If you try to respect this, I believe you will make better progress in the long run.

Biggest issue for me at this point on Android phone is that to experiment w diff moves I need to click the >> arrows, then after experimenting need to swipe the board up to see and click Return to Game, then swipe the board down to make my move, and since the board has now moved up and down, I lose sight of exactly where I decided to move and need to doublecheck so as not to make an error. This update was like adding a fifth leg to a chair to āimprove itā that is slightly longer than the other 4 leading to an annoying wobble that leaves the chair usable but annoying.

Thanks for the explanation. Thatās something Iām still learning. But I think you missed the core point of my post. What I wanted to say is that I donāt like the new interface. Whether I undo because of a misclick or not doesnāt influence the fact that I had a bad experience because of the UI.
