How accurate is the elotest rating?

I have played the bot 5 times and it said I was 8.7 kyu I also timed out games where I would have won does that affect it

OGS ELO and handicap

As a point of clarification in the event that you decide to dig deeper into how this rating algorithm uses, Elo is a specific rating system, not a generic term for rating points. So, if you start searching for terms about Elo points in the Glicko2 system, you’re going to have a much harder time getting specifically relevant results. (It’s also worth noting that Elo is not an acronym, it’s the last name of Arpad Elo, the man who invented the system.)

Why is the starting ELO 1150?

It’s explicitly the same scale as ELO, it’s a pointless to distinguish ELO scale and Glicko-1 or Glicko-2 scale, when the latter two are made to be explicitly comparable to the former.

You could also play a few more games, say 10 – 20, but I think five is probably enough to get a good handle on your rank.

well, that’s also important in ranked games, so maybe if you improve time management it will go up

true I do want to practice blitz I don’t see any and bots don’t do it
I do think a opponent would have resigned if they recognized win chance was in 90 most of the game

I know the owner of ELOtest. She indicated that the rank was based on Chinese rank when I was asked to have a test game with the bot.

It also uses different bots at different ratings right? I think I’ve seen it use Zen and Leela possibly.

Right. I have played Leela, Zen, Pachi, KataGo. To be more accurate, different engines are used. Say, Zen7 1D and Zen6 6D are different engines.
