Is that URL safe? Never seen a dot link URL before.

A computer consulting agency that does have a link that is not safe.
Weird!

You can write anything on the meta tags of a website, that doesn’t make it legit.
Personally, I find it weird that a “computer consulting agency” I’ve never heard of before, with a URL I’ve never seen before, has a link about OGS, so I think it was (and still is) a fair question.

I’m less concerned about the .link TLD and more curious why they aren’t using https :joy:

I’ve updated the original post to just embed the instructions .

Have you seen the content there? I put all my Go posts there in the baduk category. It’s really just a catch-all site for all my various intellectual pursuits.

it’s a sensitive topic and I dont want to start a fight. But I am much happier with that logo gone.

ypu have many options of go servers to play on. why try to subvert the position of the dev team when you can just vote with your feet and leave?

Honestly I respect the OP’s transparency in editing the original post and their stance not to want to discuss why they or anyone else might want to hide the logo.

If they or others want to hide the logo with a browser extension that’s up to them, and I also would not encourage someone to start arguments in this thread.

+1 I’m happy to have players who hide the logo, as long as they’re not being jerks.

i am no part of the dev or mod team.

i feel like this whole thread is an insult to the OGS team, but that is my opinion.

i’m willing to drop it, and will from now on.

Thank you for the change
I didn’t know of the existence of that plugin. I am not going to remove the logo (since I have no opinion on it), but it might be otherwise useful to me, so that is good to know.

I have not. As I said I did not click the link because it looked unsafe at first glance.
Do consider what @benjito said and even if it is just a personal site upgrading to https is a good choice for your site’s safety.

I dont have many options. I’ve looked elsewhere and there either are not enough players or I cannot login. EIther that or the game records are not easily available via URL.

I didnt come to OGS for political debates or to be proselytised.

I’m just one member of the dev team, but personally I welcome people providing ways to improve the OGS experience for all.

I doubt whether “the dev team” wants to force the logo down anyone’s throats. The logo simply expresses what we feel. If users have noted what we feel and don’t want to hear it anymore, and someone helps them with that … fine, as far as I can see.

Why not? I’ve done some customisation of OGS as well to make my life easier (colouring some usernames, making some text a bit larger, moving a button to somewhere else, that kind of stuff).

People visit the website to play Go, not to admire the OGS developer’s outstanding work on creating this server.
