I am a Go player, of course I learned to bow in every improper situation.
'64 seems late. We’re counting children of people who waited 20 years to have kids after WWII? that could be the grandchildren of WWII veterans in a few cases. 2-5 years after the surrender of Japan seems like a more reasonable catch for people born under that highly specific circumstance. After that it just starts getting into my objection about grouping people arbitrarily
1964 makes sense for Germany at least.
I’m a go player, of course I think that high-ranking officials must be at least 5d.
I’m a Go player, of course because I play go on OGS and also am an active member of the forums, but I am so much more than only a go player!
1964 was not the original cut-off date IIRC. Originally it was around 1957 or '58. I remember that my brother (born in 57) just barely made it. But years later, I was surprised to discover that it had been changed to 1964. That date is meaningless in terms of the original idea of the name. The whole idea of generation names is silly and arbitrary IMHO.
I can’t believe this wasnt a Rick Roll link
I’m a Go player, of course I try to find old Go boards with blood stains everywhere I go
I’m a Go player, of course my old table Goban has blood stains that no-one else sees.
If someone who is not a Go player stumbles across this thread, of course they may be concerned about all this talk about blood stains.
I am a Go player, of course I am not at all concerned about talk about blood stains.
The Nihon Kiin Go Center was sold a while back. But Stephanie Yin and Ryan Li formed the NYIG so that Go has a home once more in NY. Although it’s undergoing renovations, so not hosting meetups yet. Although they run classes for kids there and at another location as well.
Thanks for the information.
I’m a Go player, of course I can play baduk and weiqi too.
