I’m a Go Player, of course I care a lot about whether the word “Handicap” is used over “Difficulty Balancing”.

I’m a Go player, of course I have a tote bag of Go boards I take with me to pubs and to parties!

A German would call that a Tod bag.

Wow, I thought normally people only take magnetic boards with them!

Not at all. Myself too I carried a folding board when going outside. Magnetic stones are much smaller, I don’t like them (not talking about demo boards ofc.)

I use clam and shell stones when going outside. They don’t chip as easily as glas stones.

Well I think the good thing about magnetic boards is that the stones don’t fly everywhere when on a vehicle or when in a very windy place :joy:

If you don’t use plastic stones it’s quite rare that this is a problem. I even played in train with a regular board and stones. A good place for magnet set may be in the toilet for holding a board in your hand or when cooking or if there is no more place on your desk with that computer. Outside it’s usually not that difficult to find a nice place to put your board (with a nice view that you won’t really appreciate in fact )

i like how thin and light my folding go board from baduk.club is, it’s less heavy and chonky than the bigger magnetic boards. I’ve never had a problem with wind, but yeah this is pretty much unusable in a moving vehicle  although i haven’t tried it on a train yet, where there could be sufficient playing space

an added benefit of playing with a full-size go board in public spaces is that i’ve noticed people seem more likely to ask what you’re doing, which is a perfect opportunity to infodump… :stuck_out_tongue:

I have this one and love it. Bigger than OGS on a computer screen, feels nice enough, fits in my backpack, and the pieces don’t slide around.
