It should be possible to replay old ones by passing a URL parameter in a private/incognito tab.

Ah right, I forgot about that. I’m using the Add to Home Screen thing so they basically open/act as their own apps, but that means there’s no way to access the url. Can still do it from a browser though

You may be right about the sass. I got a “splendid”. At first I thought it was opposite day since I did well on the joseki but poorly on the 9x9. But then again, me getting a three stone pattern right doesn’t warrant effusive praise from a computer.

I jankily solved this by generating a random number in javascript and loading josekle/fusekle in iframe:
Clicking either icon just loads a new random josekle or fusekle puzzle. I found an “html reader” app for my iphone so I can run it locally on there, too.
I’m not completely sure about how it works, but it seems to me that the html reader app doesn’t store data between sessions with html pages, so I never seem to run into the issue of a solution popping up for a previously-solved random puzzle.
I have no idea what i’m doing and was only able to figure this out with some basic javascript hints from my girlfriend but the script is only a few lines long and does what i want it to do, which feels pretty cool

That’s really odd that it did not update after midnight. The javascript code should simply read the local time, so either there is a bug there, or maybe the page was not fully refreshed properly?
When opening a page on a mobile/tablet browser, sometimes it simply pulls up a suspended version of that page (if you have viewed it recently), without doing a full reload. Next time, if something like this happens, try forcing the browser to fully refresh the page, which should hopefully cause the loading code to run, which will check the date again and update the puzzle.

I’ll try that. I already knew that having the a2hs app open overnight meant that I had to close it and open it again for it to work, and I think I remember trying that and it failing with both Fusekle and Josekle, but I could be mistaken. It was during an episode of sleepless anxiety after all and it’s very realistic that I would have made a mistake there.
I tried again shortly after 1am, and it worked. Could be a problem with my phone’s clock, or could be that I properly refreshed things that time around

I don’t really understand the aji with the push and cut in general; here shinuito commented that the push and cut isn’t a concern with White’s large knight’s move, but I’d thought this was white’s normal move from this position anyway. As far as I can tell, doesn’t Black capture the cutting stones anyway? I guess White can take some corner points in sente if White protects their cut but Black doesn’t protect theirs. Is that why Black has to protect their cut after White does? If that’s the reason, it’s not nearly as devastating as I’d thought, and it makes a wider extension look not unreasonable to me
