Local storage disabled

I don’t know how to re-enable localStorage, and I don’t know how it got disabled.

Can anyone help me out? Here’s a screenshot of a corner of my OGS window in Firefox on my Mac. I recently replaced my internal hard drive and restored to it from a time machine backup in case that matters.

Note that my photo is there, and if I I go to home, I can make moves in games as usual. Apparently I am sort-of logged in, in spite of what the message says.

Thanks,

Phil

You can check you settings by following the steps on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/storage.

Or maybe a “refresh” could help here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings. Read the “What does the refresh feature do?” section there before you refresh Firefox. Make sure you have a backup (which you probably have  ).

Thank you, flovo.

I tried your ideas, and nothing changed. too bad.
I tried using Safari to sign onto OGS, and that behaved fine.

What do you think about my deleting, in Firefox, all cookies and local data for OGS? Would OGS then set localStorage and recreate cookies?

Thanks for thinking about this problem.

Phil

Yes, ogs will create all necessary things again.
After deleting you have to log in again, as your session cookies got deleted. You should also look on the settings page after, since the UI-settings are stored in the browser as well. (for example all game preferences and some general settings)
