You can play chess inside the squares of 9x9 but you can’t play shogi, so you need another board (or maybe play shogi on the intersections 
) Maybe this is a mild annoyance about shogi…

Circumvention would be an interesting name.

I believe baduk in Korean is somewhat homophonous with English paddock.
