From Freaks (Fairground) (1987), Pulp’s second, darkest and most experimental album.

For comparison, a contemporaneous non-album single they realised in 1985.

Second folk revival

Also a classic, still 2FR but a much different song.

The lost ships of the 1845 Franklin expedition couldn’t be located until 2014 (HMS Erebus) and 2016 (HMS Terror), around 170 years later.

The anime Nichijou turned ten years old yesterday.

It’s still one of my very favourite anime, not least because it’s possibly the best-animated one ever made.

Ping Pong the Animation (2014) is another anime very high up my favourites list, again in no small part due to the animation. The difference is that Ping Pong’s animation is highly experimental and distinctive, whereas Nichijou’s animation – whilst also very individual – excels more in traditional smoothness.
