My understanding of the McMahon pairing system is limited and fairly new, but there seems to be a problem. In a large and wide field, I find myself (currently 10 kyu) paired with 1 kyu players. Looking at the league, the McMahon scores at the top bars seem to line up okay, but in the middle section, players are often paired with players three or four points apart. In my section, four -5 point players are playing three players with -1 point each. Shouldn’t the sections all have pairings of similar strengths in the McMahon system?
