This photo was taken in Amsterdam in 1981 during the great “no nuclear arms” demonstration (with 400.000 people this was the greatest ever demonstration in the Netherlands).
The dutch “Staan we al atari?” translates as have we already been ataried?

From the little park across the street: Western Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) on Woodland Crocus (also “early crocus“, or “Tommasini’s crocus”; Crocus tommasinianus)
(The crocus I posted the other day was from behind the house in my (very) wild garden.)

So … forgive me: this will be four posts, because I can only add 15 images to one post … but I want to show you one of the most beautiful railway stations I have ever seen, the “Hundertwasser-Bahnhof” (“Hundertwasser Railway Station”) in Uelzen, Lower Saxony, North Germany.
These photos are from April 4, 2011.

I do not agree with all of his political opinions (for example, he was a fan of constitutional monarchy) but I absolutely love his colourful paintings!

It is a lovely station. But the tunnel, when crowded is pretty terrible. If I’ll ever have problems with walking, I’ll avoid changing trains there!
