I haven’t played the game, but the screenshot called to me.
Wait, what game is this game actually about? I see go boards in the first image and chess openings in the second…
Exactly. Unforgivable, I uninstalled.
(it’s a mini game of sorts in a different game, but all jokes aside they didn’t even do basic research it seems…)
Not exactly Playing Go though but position and board seems like referencing Go
Gintama - Episode 79
The board is 19x19 with hoshi.
A go board with no doubt.
Tenjou Tenge
so, white prevents eye shape of black
winning ko battle is the last chance for black now
but then…
while white looks in different direction, black cheats by annulling their game
There’s another go scene in S3 ep21 like 9 mins in. I don’t know anything about this show though
Edit: I think was probably it

There’s quite a lot of Go in it.
I know this is not a tv show, and not strictly playing Go, but when I open youtube today, this video is recommended to me somehow.
And after watching it, I can say, I still have no idea what is entropy.
That go(?) board is strange.
It’s like the ancient tomb Go boards without borders.
A recurring theme in PBS Space Time’s videos
An amazing channel, don’t get me wrong, but more often than not it creates more questions than the answers it sets out to provide.
Anyway here is my contribution. “Secret synergy” on League of Legends skins:
One champion plays Go when recalling, one other sits down on a crate, so they appear like playing togather.
I just saw there’s a Canadian metal band as well.
Maybe music will help us understand.
It’s not a visual medium, but:
I’m listening to the History of Rome podcast. We are in Hannibal or thereabouts, and Mike Duncan out of nowhere said “if you have played the ancient Chinese game of Go, there’s a proverb that says “when in doubt, tenuki””.
It’s everywhere, you just have to be in the inner circle to spot it.
He uses the word tenuki?! (I guess he explain it then)
Yes.
He explained it as basically “when in doubt ignore the opponent” and went on.
My humble guess is he’s a Go enthusiast and was dying to get a reference in.
