I haven’t tried again, maybe in the weekend. The problem with the mouse I’ve had before, but only after exiting the game.
I’ll check device manager, you never know.
Ugh it was like…8 years ago when I ran into this, but there was some gamepad device hiding in device manager that I had to remove.
I tried again tonight and it caused my laptop to shut down.
I may be too dense to get it the first time sometimes, but I can at least pride myself that life hasn’t yet needed to teach me the same lesson thrice.
My phone is worse. Sometimes, it will go crazy pressing the places i only pressed once. [edit:sorry for kind of reviving this topic]
My very first Lenny face! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
What’s the most stupid question you’ve ever heard? Apart from this one.
95% of Quora.
Why are the forums so quiet sometimes?
dunno?
Maybye it’s because it’s the weekends?
Shouldn’t more people be free then?
Time and space are bent, normal circumstances don’t apply.
My theory is, the first weeks of lockdown, everyone was still full of energy and wanted to try something new as a substitute for how they would usually spend their free time. But now, many people become depressed and lack energy, because there’s no end to the pandemic in sight, many lose their jobs, and it’s hard to keep going without being able to make plans.
I know you call the forum quiet, but there’s plenty of threads with hundreds of posts that take me a long time to catch up on - eg here
Is there anybody here who practices meditation and can give me some advice on how to get started? Like good readings, videos, or even practical advice. Cause there’s so much stuff on the internet that I can’t tell the bad from the good.
@PiggyStardust This is a good ressource, it’s a completely free program of guided meditations: https:// palousemindfulness.com/
I sometimes use Deep Meditation (it has a purple icon on Google play). What’s free is more than enough to start. I enjoy the fall asleep ones.
Two points I’d like to make:
- there’s no need to pressure yourself with rules like “always practice in the morning”, “always practice at the same time”, “always practice for at least 10 minutes” etc. If you can OK, but it’s a very personal thing and rules like that don’t offer much if they discourage you.
- it’s a common misconception that the goal is to “empty your mind”.
I read a nice saying the other day (I’ll probably misquote but you’ll get the meaning): “leave the door open to your thoughts, just don’t offer them tea”.
Basically, allow thoughts to come and go, but do not engage.
I can suggest a few YT channels and videos for guided meditation, but really the voice that I like may be grating for you, so please tell me if you’d like some YT suggestions as well.
@8fledermaus8 That’s cool I’ll check that out, thank you!
@Gia Sure, I’m completely new to this, so I’m open to any suggestion you might give me. I’ve already checked some yt videos anyway. And thanks a lot
Wish you guys a wonderful day!
OK, here are some recommendations :-). I find that the voice is the most important part, if the person guiding you has a voice that annoys you it won’t work.
I really like Kassandra’s voice, she has lots of videos in her channel.
This is is different than the usual ones, it felt weird but I also enjoyed it very much.
I also like April’s voice.
This course didn’t really work for me, but maybe it will for you.
I don’t want to stifle you with dozens of recommendations, so please let me know if something worked better for you, so I can maybe give you some more links that I’ll think you’ll enjoy.
Good luck!
Sure will, thanks a lot Gia!
