It used to be highly popular on myspace…

I hope you turned off “game started” sound of OGS itself

Same as if they posted text or other communication to that effect, they could be reported and likely be banned.

However, harmless stuff is just that. Individual profile pages are a bit like Myspace. The mods can address the inappropriate content, but are not fashion police.

Huh, never noticed that since my browser blocks autoplay on OGS by default. Opens a new world for me.

I think you have learned now that this expectation is wrong, and you could adjust your browsing habits accordingly?

(Personally I’m not a fan of the way that profile pages are customisable, but … that’s how the feature is right now)

I used to have shakuhachi playing on my profile page. I was very happy with that but one day it didn’t work anymore. So sad.

I must find a way to put it up again.

Apparently you can put any HTML code on your profile page, including links to images. Click on my profile for instance: jlt (don’t worry it’s just an image of a triple ko + classical music).

So if you are afraid of NSFW material, disabling sound may not be enough. Better never visit anyone’s profile page.

I don’t think it’s any html code. JavaScript and various other potentially malicious things are blocked/filtered from what I’ve heard.

I mean if you’re afraid of nsfw don’t play any games at all. What if you queue up for an automatch and your opponent has an NSFW profile image/avatar that hasn’t been flagged or removed yet, like if it’s a newly created account or very recent change. ( but do report them  )

Well this exists

If you find a username or avatar offensive, please report it.

The fact that it still exists implies the no-one else yet found it offensive…

Offensive and possibly nsfw are two different things…

Yeah - I can see that it might be possible to argue that you would not want to report this, since it is not especially offensive, and yet you wouldn’t want it on your screen at work.

The thing I’m finding hard to understand is what OGS is doing on your screen at all, at work…

Only because it is inactive since 2017.

I’m not reporting, I’m mentioning.

That a pornhub69 profile exists.

I didn’t put any extra weight on it.

And afaik nsfw is broader than strictly “for work”.

OP specifically mentioned work.

Why do people check various social media while they’re at work? Is this a question you’d like an answer to or…

Right.
I was very annoyed by the OP who wanted a silent server for using it at work.
If your work allows you to check or play games, it should allow also hearing nyan cat.

In my office there’s a proxy that blocks OGS completely. I guess how did they know about it?
Probably some service that sells lists of domains divided by genre.

So, if I really feel the urge to check my moves while working (ykyaga after all), I use my smartphone. If nyan cat comes out of it, that’s no problem at all. If it was some moaning or hate speech, that would be annoying for me in first place, rather than my colleagues.

I don’t know well html, but that’s the way I managed to put a wikipedia audio file (ogg) on my profile.
Actually it’s still there… the file is available online but it doesn’t work in my profile page as it did before.

I was under the impression we are allowed to expand on a topic.
