Robots in Terrihill: Werewolf Game 3.0

@Vsotvep and @Gia should not be joining the discussion as well.

@Vsotvep, as a dead player, you should also not be sending me PMs. I’m happy to discuss the game after it is over. I guess it effectively is, since people adhering to the rules has effectively broken down at this point.

It’s a shame that we’ve wasted our time here.

Man, seriously, the only one who really managed to ruin this game is you.

Get off your high horse. Neither @Gia nor I are discussing the game, and neither did I in my PM. Everybody here has the best intentions, it is you who sees devils in us.

The rule is not “send no PM’s”, the rule is “it’s not allowed to discuss the game outside of this thread”. Specifically, that rule intends to prevent secret exchange of information about the game.

I sent you a PM with a message that I was also getting tired of people not understanding the rules. @Leira sent you a message to ask if you were feeling okay. It looks to me as if he had good intentions with this, and wasn’t trying to manipulate the game. The message from @Gia and from me above in this thread are directed the discussion we’re having currently.

Most importantly, in no way do these exchange information about the game, it’s not breaking the game rules.

However, as I sent you (in a PM) yesterday, your attack on @Leira can be seen as a violation. The two robots are allowed to discuss things with PM’s. Therefore implicitly by considering receiving a PM from Leira a violation of the rules (and getting confirmation of said act by Leira), you’re using a tactic outside of the game mechanics to prove your innocence.

This post in itself breaks the rules, since I’m now discussing the game here, publicly, while being dead.

However, the game itself has died a few posts ago, when it stopped being fun and started becoming an argument, so honestly, I don’t care.

How do you know that I’m not a robot? That this is not all just a play to fool the innocents into killing ginger?

In that case you’re using personal attacks as a strategy to win the game. I don’t know if that makes it better.

 Yes, sorry about that.

I truly do not want to escalate further. @yebellz, it is not that I think that you’re weird, it’s that I feel weirded out.

I do understand that you find it disingenuous, it is not your kind of thing, you already laid it out. At the time I was uncertain if that would be the case: I pondered both possibilities, but in the end did decide to send you the PM. I will not delve into the reasons because it is not worth it.

I don’t mind winning or losing the argument. Here are the things I find myself at fault: misrepresenting your position, getting flustered and ruining the flow of the game. I am sorry about those things. This is the third apology I give, will do no more than that.

Please take the win and let it go.

Pleeeeeaaase, everybody.

Yes, I guess, now the game is ruined.
I actually hoped we could play another game soon, but that’s only possible if we can still look each other in the eyes after all of this. I feel this is not simply a werewolf game, but it’s just part of a social communication meta game that can only be won if people of different age and different background are able to agree on a set of rules they should follow. Sounds simple, but, you know, humans…

Sorry everyone. I guess I really suck at running these.

No, Haze, you did a really great job with managing this game as well as with your background story (keep in mind that I am a German and mean what I say  I don’t just say this for being polite). I’m sorry it turned out like this.

Um this could be considered my fault. I could’ve said “no you can’t participate”, but instead I thought “the more the merrier”.

No boo, you should expect a bunch of adults to self-regulate a bit better. Sorry for ruining your game.

Alright, I guess the game is fully dead now. If not, I offer my resignation and consider it to be.

@Leira, I’m sorry for upsetting you with these exchanges. I’m not offended by your play or even if you do wish to call me weird within this thread as part of this game. I was only bothered by the external communication, but I greatly played that up within the context of the game.

I’m sorry to everyone for my offensive style of play, and for instigating the breakdown of the game in this manner.

The game has inherent unpleasantry, since deception and manipulation are necessary and valid tools. Also, all of the subtlety and nuance of communication are part of the game. Even a meta comment about the game or just other people’s participation level may influence how another sees the situation. Firm information is scarce, so reading into people’s language and interactions are key to the game.

Hence, we need to draw a clear line around the game and I firmly contend that an essential part of that is to allow no gray areas for bending/breaking the rules with external communication (or talking at night or talking by dead players). If we blur those lines, it becomes difficult to decide what is part of the game and what is not, and no player should take the privilege of unilaterally deciding that their rule bending is okay.

I accept that, thanks.

I can suggest one thing that might suit us both, and other players as well. The Game Master can be the one managing misunderstandings in the sense that, for example, in this case I would aks them to pose the query to you. Something like “Is this part of the game, or are you actually upset?”. Yes/No suffices. I doubt this exact thing would happen again, because now I know you a bit better, and can make a better assumption.

Also may I suggest the game is not entirely ruined if we can all agree in some kind of narrative ending?

A ghost still needs to know who killed them. Also, the ghost is kinda stupid and can’t tell if roles were actually given away (actually skipped over some stuff up there), so the ghost is looking at the sun setting and wondering if villagers can still do stuff before night comes.

In my particular canon: The android went back for wifi to finish the updates. Tried to sneak in but when she got there Gia was just going out of the house. Gia tried to scream and got lasered to the heart.

I guess we never resolved the game.

So, did I successfully fool people into believing that I was not a Robot?

We could have avoided that until everyone said the game ended… Maybe remaining villagers wanted to end the day properly.

You didn’t fool me :stuck_out_tongue:

Everyone

Before @yebellz’s post, did you want to end the day properly?

Well I just said other because I would’ve gone along with whatever, and I technically didn’t play so I feel that I shouldn’t put the answer of “I don’t care”
