So… Blue and Pink keep fighting these connection points for the rest of the game, leaving all other battles to Green? 
Actually, can someone explain to me what’s so important about A17? Isn’t it just a point?

It’s about A17 and A18. So two points that could go either way. Which makes a difference of four points (although I’m not sure I’m using the term “points” correctly here, as we’re using area scoring).
And then there’s A15 as a possible follow-up.

In case it ends up being the case that four of us have to continuously play moves that get removed immediately, I think it’s helpful if the remaining member of team Black throws some stones in empty territory that is crrently only bordering white stones; to reduce the amount of territory that can be claimed to be white if we accidentally trigger scoring.
