Resigning is allowed. It removes you from the game permanently, but your stones remain on the board until they are each captured.
Whether or not you choose to resign is up to you.

I would be sad if you throw in the towel now. The conflict in the south is looking very intriguing and could easily go either way, depending on who teams up against who.
I agree with @martin3141 that the game would be more interesting if the Orange Organization plays towards some objective rather that just immediately quitting. However, at the same time, I don’t want to force @shinuito to continue playing a game that they have lost interest in just for our sake.
It’s not that much work to add a stone to the board whenever it’s my turn.
I just don’t have any objective or incentive anymore.
So I’ll probably put stones in “interesting” places from now on.
There’s no point in defending any of the stones.
I would be willing to take over orange’s position, but it seems very likely the stone at K3 is about to be killed by the alliance of purple and blue so there would not be much use in taking over.
Like I said it’s not that hard to play on. Just watch out for it to be my turn, edit the board, share etc.
There just isn’t any goal.
I’m happy to play on.
If I would take over, I would try to play the game instead of just playing randomly.
If that’s what you and the other players want, be my guest
There’s still a big of leverage in the orange position. It may take at least a few turns yet to actually capture, and the threat of retaliation, even with just one or two final damaging stones, can give a foothold in negotiations…
Like I said, I’m happy to play on for some more turns, to see how it goes.
Happy to fight it out.
Having said that, it won’t be very enjoyable to be criticised for being unenthusiastic about my chances in the game, or how I choose to play it.
If someone wants me to just play to connect my stones and patiently wait out being captured, and I don’t do that, and will continually offer to take over, I don’t think it’s worth me actually playing on the game.
If you have lost interest in the game, it is better to give your place to someone else. I am willing to take over. I am pretty sure I will be killed quickly, but at least I will try.
I don’t see the difference between me playing and being killed quickly, or you doing it.
So as I said, I’ll leave it up to the other players to decide.
I guess it is time to put it to a vote.
No. It is @shinuito s decision whether to continue or not.
@NeilAgg you can have my colour - i’m quite busy at the moment and and don’t have the time really, so I would be happy to drop and Shinuito can keep playing
what do you think?
@shinuito, it’s solely up to you to do decide whether or not you wish to continue.
I think it’s within the nature of open kibitz that spectators can openly criticize our play.
I’m fine with @NeilAgg taking over for @Auri if that’s what @Auri wishes.
This is not a criticism, but an observation:
I was thinking about the requirement to keep all discussions open for all players to see. I think it removes a large part of these types of games, namely secret pacts. I understand such things lead to hurt feelings, but that should not happen if people separate the game play from real life.
@Auri I am willing to take over your position. I am sorry things are hectic for you right now. I hope they get better soon.
Having said that, I want to make clear that if I join this game:
Thank you
That’s perfect, have fun!
Yeah … this is why I wrote Kibitzers can comment but are asked not to disturb the game in the simultaneous fractional go game. I appreciate the occasional kibitzer post for fun, but not a fan of observers starting a discussion, especially in a diplomatic style game.
More specifically I believe that trying to figure out other peoples playstyle and intentions is very much part of the game. A part that should be influenced as little as possible by outside factors. @NeilAgg s comment …
… prompted @shinuito to justify their play:
In my opinion this kind of verbal exchange should only happen between players.
