The First Go Battle Royale ⚔

Oh such insane Ko is something I though about earlier, the outcome depends on which place all of the players expect to take.

It seems unlikely to me that anyone would want to initiate capture of that ko, so I guess it might just resolve after another round when Yellow goes back to connect it.

If someone other than Green does capture the hypothetical Yellow stone at G7 by playing H7, then Green can safely end the ko by capturing whoever plays there.

If Yellow plays G7, and then the next move in that area is by Green at H7, either Green might eventually connect at G7 on their next turn, or possibly another player might take the ko at G7 first, which would eliminate Green and put that player in at least 3rd place. With three players remaining, the next to take that ko would immediately guarantee themselves second place and hand the win to the other remaining player.

For this last scenario, based on earlier communication, it appears that perhaps Red might be willing to follow Green at H7 with the capturing move at G7? So, that threat probably dissuades Green from playing H7 in the first place (if Yellow moves at G7).

Very interesting situation in this game.

So one more word about “aggression”:
K5 - K7 - im dead.
It is not single-player game, single-player logic is not working here.
Yellow is fully alive until their allies allow them to.

Only yellow can play those, so you’d have time to connect

Unless multiple people attack at the same time of course.

I’ll respond properly later, am now in the supermarket :stuck_out_tongue:

Of course attack would be cooperative. So to summarize:
I cannot play J4 directly, because then follows simple cooperative kill: H4+J3 - and neither Red nor Yellow loses anything but instead receive one more “eye”.
If I start attack with K5, then is it a big risk for me as due to the order of turn killing response can follow: Yellow K7, Red L6. You may say it is high risk for Red, but is it? Yellow and Red already depend on each other on the bottom, and if someone else is going to take - he would die immediately after.
Once again: there is no way for Blue to kill Yellow in observable future (without taking big risks).
But if talk about cooperative kills, then yellow can be easily killed on the top side, which would be good both for Sky and Red, but for some reason you do not want to discuss it.

Because I personally want to reward loyalty and transparency (also as a meta-game tactic). @martin3141 has been helpful for the entire game for me, and we’ve successfully collaborated with other things. Meanwhile, your previous rules has broken initial early-game agreements, and you now follow in their footsteps by disconnecting yellow for practically no gain for yourself.

Would I rather continue the game with someone who has been trustworthy up to this point, or someone who is known not to honour their earlier commitments?

And like I said, I have little to lose, I don’t see myself winning this game. The window where attacking the southern players is fruitful is rapidly closing.

As the big chief of Blue nation, we alert you, foreigners: anyone who enters our peacefully and honestly acquired territory would be annihilated. Initruders and strictly prohibited and totally unwelcome. We know you as bloodthirsty beasts, and if you want blood then extract it from ones similar to yourself! We are happy to build Paradise on our lands.

Out of game, character and meta-game: I did not understand this part, what do you mean? I mean - I joined later and could miss something.

There was a point in early game where Blue said to play in the lower left, but played rather in the middle:

and then played:

L10 was already aggressive before that as well.

Oh, I see, thank you!

I cannot find any way to capture an Azure or Green group with only two players. Even with three players, I don’t see a strategy without one of the three being sacrificed.

I feel we are exactly one turn too late. If either @martin3141 or @yebellz sees something that works, let me know. Otherwise I presumably will continue playing passively.

loyalty and transparency

One of you would inevitably kill another. Would you prefer to be killed by one whom you relied on and finish on the lower place? Killing yellow would result in a large gain of possible moves. You know, our lands are overcrowded already. Is dying in poverty better then living in wealth? You have already shown your short-term loyalty - and other players would definitely want to cooperate with you.
I am against violence, but this is very personal. You have already participated in the dark ritual of purple henocide, so talking about moral is pretty marvelous.

Oh, I do not know from whose mouth this words came - probably there should be some meta-leader of Blue nation as well. So these words just appeared here somehow.

Ok, I’ll play passively, L12

I believe it was supposed to be my turn. Sorry for the delay. However, I would be happy to pass.

I was about to say that.

@yebellz, you should play a move, with the option of playing F5 if you want (although I highly doubt you do)
