Trophies to winners 🏆 (aka winner-marker in game history)

:trophy:
New feature in, I see.
(I thought it meant tournament and I was confused at first, tbh).

Yeah I did think it was tournament related at first as well. Nice touch though @Eugene!

How do you know???

Lol I just personally think it was a nice touch

I meant how do you know Eugene was the developer responsible.

My incredible investigatory skills :grinning:

LOL I always forget this exists.

It was implemented as an accessibility feature to assist red-green colourblind to quickly identify winners and losers in their game history.
I suggested we could have an option to instead have a winner column and a loser column, and then separately mark who was black and who was white, but alas this had already been implemented before deep discussion could be had :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, now it’s precisely 200% more of a great feature.

I didn’t realize this! Awesome!

In the course of designing the Diplomatic Go variant, we also had to address colorblindness issues. I found this palette that is specifically designed for colorblindness, which we found helpful:

Perhaps this could be useful for general color design considerations on OGS.

Wow… crazy to see when you specifically design for something and the end result still looks so similar :open_mouth:
I shudder to think what less considerate pallets look like…

This is still on the table.

It’s waiting for strong community support and its waiting for approval of the idea that this would be selectable by user settings.

Might i suggest that the trophy goes in front of the names. On my profile i see random trophies for players with short usernames who beat me. I have none since my name is too long for them to be seen, and turning my phone sideways doesn’t make the table wider… And if my opponent also has a slightly longer username then no trophy shows for that game. It’s rather confusing all in all! (For my poor old brain)

Yes, I also noticed this long name problem, I think you are right.

The reason it is after is because if it goes before, we run into the problem/question of “separate column, spacing-wise, for the winner-marker (trophy).”

Just like any UI thing … nothing is easy or obviously good and right.

Just saying, if you made winner and loser colums, then every person on every row could have either a black or white marker before their name, solving all the spacing issues

My personal preference, I prefer the color column to be static.
