Thank you for sharing this twitter. I saw it a long time ago but forgot about it. I’ve been studying Japanese and it’s fun to realize how much I can piece together, even though it’s not much, it is more than I expected.

This one is my favorite, it’s also a strange tsumego:

The black/purple stones are saying “help!” and the two camoflaged stones are saying “quiet! saving you now”
well maybe someone else can translate better but you get the idea

I did learn a new word, for “foul play” (反則), but I guess this could conceivably be useful in a real game as a ko threat.

Thanks for sharing that. The point seems to be that black needs two moves in a row to live, so can only save their group as part of a ko.
