I like the J4-J3 idea
@Leira, I would like to play J4. What do you think of that?
Any other opinions from Team Black?
What about J2 or M4? Are they too aggresive?
I’d say M4 is a big endgame move but doesn’t threaten that much.
J2 is interesting, but the oppoenents have a double move next. No matter where we put the second move, they’d be able to cut J2 off I think. Hmm, thinking about it J2 and H2 might be interesting. Has connection options in 2 directions. But it would basically create a new group for us that we’d have to look after. Sounds complicated.
Oh, I thought we had the double move next. J2 still looks nice, but yes opponents getting a double move makes it complicated.
We both have double moves now.
Viscount @yebellz,
Please delay the attack while I run some drills with my troops.
Let’s have strategic discussion over tea.
Our 2nd Sente Battalion must move as one unified phalanx.
Let’s show those insolent rebels the only two truths of this world: death and gote.
— L.t.H.
Ok, cool, dude. Looking forward to wrecking those rebels.
Dat death and gote line… goosebumps
banners usually are the things that define us
Maybe Death to our enemies, gote to their troops?
Or only two truths left for them of this world?
OOC, sorry I’m not trying to be annoying, but it read funny to me. Disregard if annoying.
Champagne for my real friends, and real pain for my sham friends.
I think I like J4 best, but that only works if there is a follow-up play by Black.
Any other thoughts, @Leira? I think you asked me to wait for your further input.
I had certain concerns that I will not post unless it happens (no point in hinting the enemy with good continuations). Probably it will be fine I guess.
Ok. Let’s do the J3, J4 combo.
Yeah, sorry I’ve been busy.
yebellz plays J4
Leira plays "J3"
Current board state
@Barbanaira’s turn
We now have a double move with @Barbanaira and @Jon_Ko, and then a single move by them and a single move by me.
Colouring the board by team we’re looking at:
I think J11 & J12 are good options for us: it gives us more certainty that the groups can connect and stay alive, and in the future we may have a way to harass the Black corner group.
I don’t think our own group in the lower right corner is dead yet either.
How good is our chance to eat the blob in that top ripht corner?
They can reinforce their current settlements such that it will withstand any siege we can offer, with a double move in two disjoint ways, e.g. N9 & M13 or N13 & L13. Therefore, I don’t think we can expect to eat the blob unless they let us do so. But we may be able to force them to use a double manoeuvre to protect against a feigned assault at their encampments, distracting them from employing their forces elsewhere on the battleground. Perhaps we should discuss such strategies when the time is ripe.
If we do manage to completely surround their armies in the top right, I believe we will have enough prisoners of war to negotiate a peace in favour of the rebels.
Another option would be to try and keep our stones connected with something like M6 and L5.
I’m not sure what I prefer yet.
