And also
Iād assume that to mean:
āgames that started in Feb need to also finish in Feb to countā
Otherwise it would just be silly imoā¦
I think it was be a gargantuan task to try and do it that way as I donāt know any easy ways to filter games by start date
Clossius wrote a posts on his discord a couple of days ago, saying that he was debating not to stream, because of Patreon stuff/WDC. For the stream before that there was a family emergency, but nothing too serious.
I guess he has just a lotta work atm.
Your games which started & ended last December:
https://online-go.com/api/v1/players/445315/games/?started__gte=2020-12-01&ended__lt=2021-01-01
Yeay I find it silly too, to count couple 100s of games, which startet unrelatet to the challenge. That is just misleading. The player did not play 100 games in that month, but fractions of those games.
That is a legitimate opinion of course. But the matter had been discussed and decided before the challenge started.
I did manage to complete one correspondence game that started and ended within February but I failed to complete most of my other correspondence games (about 10) that started before February. Just goes to show, time settings and opponentās speed of reply are important.
What I find silly is someoneās only presence in the forums is to be salty about someone elseās achievement.
It is clear to whoever read the whole thread (and presumably someone interested in the competition would do their due diligence) what the rules are.
If I make a challenge and request all contestants to wear polka dots in red itās within my rights, itās my challenge. Nobody has to take part if they donāt want to. But questioning things after the fact isā¦ questionable.
You would have been welcome to make these concerns heard before the challenge started.
This is exactly the reason I asked about this so many times in January say it had been the other way around, Iām sure plenty of users would be asking why all their correspondence games didnāt count!
Even if it was fractions of the games played out in February it amounts to a considerable time spent on OGS and with other players, which was the goal of the WDC, aka boost the attendance.
Sofiam was super regular in her presence. She played a lot of games besides correspondence too.
And as others pointed out these rules were set beforehand. No way to change 'em for an ongoing/finished challenge.
I went as far as naming my games Western Dan Challenge
I did this also as promoting it. But none asked me what means.
Anyway, checking games for all participants is redundant or waste of time. The proper method of counting was to ask participants to submit the number of played games. And next, check the games of those who qualify for prizes.
Clossius right now:
Jk 2000+ games is still a lot to check
Yeah, that would relief a lotta workload for the people going through the games - otoh there would have been a necessary delay after the last day of February to give people the time to submit.
I cant give anymore likes for today T_T but KEKW that gif (poor clossi, lmao ^^)
Here are the OGS early results.
26 people completed the 100 games challenge.
According to @anoek
3864 were played by participants in Jan and 9368 were played by them in Feb, so a 142% increase in games for the players involved.
I think this is a great success to the event to encourage more games being played on the server. Thank you to all involved! More results will be coming soon. We have a lot to look over so please be patient with us. ^^
