It does seems so from the initial post, although yes, not using the feature is what I meant by, ‘of course, it wouldn’t be using the automatch’ queue.
(it was just an idea for finding games, if it was difficult to find a game for some time with those settings via automatch anyway.
Maybe it is also more difficult to find game via automatch on OGS because the queue is invisible to site users compared to the much more visible custom games, so no-one is aware if anyone is waiting, and with what rank/ranksettings/timesettings)
I’ve also been struggling to get games through automatch, but it’s only day one, so I’ll keep at it!
I have been getting games through the normal custom games system, though. I’m going for the grand slam, starting with 9x9, and so far I’ve gotten mostly handicap games against lower rated players. This has had the side effect of juicing my rating, but I think it’s consistent with Clossius’ intent for the event.
Anyway, so far so good - thanks again to Clossius for organizing!
The API is up and running! The results will now be updated every 30 minutes.

I see some concerns about matching. This is actually one of the major points of the events. I think @anoek and @GreenAsJade will be able to analyze the pros and cons of the buttons during this month and perhaps use the information to further improve the site and matchmaking.
I apologize for not having more participants. I was unable to advertise as much as I did years prior. I have been really focused on my students and Tsumego Dragon as that is where I am actually making income xD - regardless, I am happy to be able to put this event on for people to support the community and OGS. I hope everyone enjoys the event

Did I have a typo in my time settings? Where exactly?
I’d love to do this, but it seems open blitz 9x9 seeks for a ~19k player are almost impossible to get filled. I’ve waited > 5 min multiple times, only gotten one match. I’m not sure if it’s because of my rank or what, but it seems the player pool is depressingly small at a beginner level
I do recommend either stable WiFi/mobile data or keep a few of your byo-yomi periods or bank a little bit of time
I think 10s is not enough to recover a 15 or 20s or so lag in WiFi
Otherwise I think just practice helps with it being fast. Not enough time to find the best move so play on instinct and the opponent will probably miss the best move too
Hey! I think I played exactly 100 9x9 games, but it’s showing 101 on your site. Obviously not a big deal, but I wanted to flag it in case it indicates an error in your code somewhere. (Hopefully it’s not an error in my ability to count to 100, but that could happen…)
