Why my average rank is higher than all individual ranks?

My 3 individual ranks are all 7 but my average rank is 6. I wonder why? Anyone has clues?

You probably play blitz, live, and correspondence games. You just need to play more so that the individual ranks will catch up to your overall rank.

I know my individual ranks will change as I play more, what I don’t get it is the term “average”, or “overall”. by my understanding “average rank” should be the result of 3 individual ranks adding up together and divided by 3. But obviously it is not.

I don’t know specifically, but I assume it’s a separate rating that simply takes a different subset of your games to calculate rank.
