There are some posts earlier in the thread that mention Absurdle that can be located with the search feature. There’s a spoiler for a five-guess path, but that was found with some “cheating” (giving up and undos). The site mentions that four guesses is optimal.
Ah I missed that. I prefer the daily format of Wordle because otherwise I’ll get addicted, so I like to do Absurdle once a day too to pretend it’s the same format. Never gotten below six guesses, though
That’s why I said that the input guesses should be checked to be valid joseki (and the dictionary might not even have that many very long joseki). It seems that guessing a very long joseki to start would be a good strategy, but one still has to work out the ordering of all of the yellow hints.
It’s pretty straightforward to parse an SGF, and certainly a lot easier than re-entering sequences manually. There’s a bunch of open-source libraries for handling SGF files. An SGF tree structure containing a bunch of joseki also makes it quite convenient to check if a sequence belongs to the set or not.
Yes, I think that some degree of curation might be necessary. Specifically, I think that one should prepare a larger dictionary for valid input guesses and then a smaller subset of common josekis for the solution to be selected from. I also think that enforcing some conventions on the presentation would be helpful (but this pruning can all be automated with some simple code):
Do you organize your icons by color?
Yeah. I thought it would make apps easier to find. In practice, it makes the apps I regularly use harder to find, but the ones I occasionally use slightly easier to find. It’s not super practical but I like it anyway, and it helped me make the almost-interesting discovery that blue seems to be the most common app icon color
Alphabetical, or by Dewey Decimal Classification, is definitely the way to go
I suppose some folks have already seen this but for those who haven’t:
(paywalled link, so here’s an archive)
on the one hand, I liked the charm of the basic old school website with no frills and ads. on the other hand, I would also sell out at that price

just to be clear, I have no plans to actually make a Josekle. I wouldn’t want to be the main character on Twitter for a day because I ripped off yebellz idea although it would be in line with how things have gone for wordle clones

That was a lucky guess tbh
I would love for you to build it. Let the Tweeters take note that you have my full blessings.
I could probably do it myself, but it would take a lot of time and effort, and it’d be so much easier if someone else did.
this sums up my feelings too I do think it could be cool but haven’t wrapped my head around exactly the best way it should play
might think some more about it
I find this so hard. So many letters! And so small my vocabulary. But at least it made me look into my Esperanto book for the first time in years.
