I tried (without looking something up) and failed spectacularly. Didn’t even reach the 6th try, but just wasn’t able to find any valid word using the remaining letters, so I gave up.
I don’t look stuff up for any of them; I claim a technicality on that Wordleo, since the helpejo is meant to be used while playing, especially the first time. That said, I did not reference it in today’s Wordleo.
If @GreenAsJade can make the play button on joseki explorer do this
Edit:
It would be a somewhat unique idea for a joseki game. You’re kind of guessing the final position as opposed to trying/guessing the joseki in order. Still interesting
I was envisioning that the goal would be to correctly guess the entire joseki with the correct order of moves. It could be interesting to guess just the final shape of the stones (and maybe this type of game would not have to be limited to just joseki either), but it’s quite a different game.
With the sequential goal, it becomes a bit tricky to decide how to best visualize the previous guesses. One possibility would be to show a separate quarter board for each previous guess, or maybe one should be able to flip through previous guesses in the same space. Condensing all of the information about previous guesses into one board view seems a bit tricky, but maybe the yellow/green outlines should be left behind (when starting to make a new guess) or maybe with smaller yellow/green numbers left behind? Somehow, the previous guess information needs to clarify when each move was in the sequence.
On the other hand, if considering the non-sequential guessing goal, it seems a bit simpler to visualize previous guess information on one board, since we no longer have to indicate order. However, what would a “yellow” marker mean for such a game?
I see what you mean. Yellow is supposed to be “this move was played but not at this point in the sequence”.
I feel like one needs some initial information similar to wordle, like “there are 6 moves in this sequence”, although I’m not sure would that be too easy or not for some short ones.
If one had a submit button then maybe one could have the coloured borders show up at the right time, so previous guesses have grey, yellow for this move is in the sequence but not at this point, and green for this is the right move now.
I wonder would it even be fun Might not even be the hardest thing to code as a standalone thing, but inputting all the sequences might be a hassle
I suggested earlier that I think that allowing variable length josekis would be interesting and flexible. I think the interface should state the length of the solution, but allow guesses of longer and shorter josekis to make it easier for the user to make probing inputs. Still, the joseki input guesses would be checked to be valid against a joseki dictionary.
I was definitely envisioning a submit button, but just didn’t show that part in the concept mock-up image. It would be quite different to get immediate feedback on each move.
Some joseki dictionaries are already available in an SGF format, and maybe even the OJE (or a portion of it) could be exported as such. The set of josekis would then be all paths from the root to each childless leaf node or intermediate points marked as the end of a joseki (i.e., some josekis might be the prefix of other josekis).
