A Semantic Game

Honestly, I thought this game was gonna be about having to wear a silly hat when you throw a prime number with your dice or something, and not about establishing a constitution.

Coz what are we gonna do when the constitution is established? What is the future of the Game? We are not a society that needs distribution of wealth and goods and there is no returning cycle of any kind that justifies an authority presiding over the corrct carrying out of cyclical tasks, like collecting taxes after the harvest or counting the points after making a trick in a card game. In a place where time does not exist, like here and now, there is no need for Rules.

So what there will need to exist as soon as one of us gets into power, is, like in every good game, a cycle where everybody knows what phase of the game is up.
In my system, there is a system of offices distributed every day, but even that is a bit silly. The only purpose of the offices is to entertain themselves, to keep themselves in power. There needs to be an actual game taking place besides the Rules, otherwise it’s just having Rules for the Rules’ sake.

Remember when this game didn’t take forever for one to frolick?

So what’s our frolicker going to do first?

That depends on the frolicker, I think.

I’m assuming that the party leaders are going to keep their promises, but you never know…

Well, that’s nice… 3 votes for Leira, 3 votes for PiggyStardust, 2 votes for Sanonius. So Sanonius is eliminated, but the alternative votes were both blank.

So we have a tie between Leira and PiggyStardust. Hence no frolicker has been selected.

Let me summarize:

Leira (NLP): 1st vote 27,3% – 2nd vote 0%
PiggyStardust (OGS Kingdom): 1st vote 27,3% – 2nd vote 9,1%
Sanonious (independent): 1st vote 18,2% – 2nd vote 45,4%

No second vote: 18,2%
Blank votes: 27,3%

What do we do now?

sorry, my summary wasn’t specific enough

It seems that most all of @Sanonius voters were very committed and gave no 2nd vote.

There is one second vote for @PiggyStardust , but that 1st vote was mine, so it does not go to PiggyStardust

According to the rules you set at the beginning, we are both tied at 27,3%

I propose to try with another poll: Piggy vs Leira.
Now Sanonius’ voters will have to choose between us two.

Yeah, that is how it was set from the beginning, in theory.

The problem is that this is a form of how political discourse becomes polarising: the central party (Sanonius) would be the choice most people would be fine with, yet since the fringe parties (Leira, Piggy) got more votes, the central party ended up losing.

Your proposal suggest discarding the party most people would have least problems with, and instead making it a 2-party election between the two extremes.

It’s pretty cool how similar to actual politics this all is.

What we should do is negotiate a compromise with @Sanonius. That is to say, our agendas must now become more friendly to Sanonius voters.

However, doing something other than what was stated in the rules of the poll can potentially be worse, because both NLP and OGS-K voters would cry that it was a sham election.

Let’s try this then.

Do you want another poll where to choose between @Leira and @PiggyStardust?

  • Yes
  • No

0 voters

When do you think I should close this poll?

When should the above poll be closed?

  • Now
  • In 5 minutes
  • Just let me sleep one more hour
  • Tomorrow
  • at Thanksgiving

0 voters

Well, since I’m going to bed and there are still only 4 votes I’ll close it tomorrow morning so that more people can see it. Good night (or day) everyone!

idk the point of this game at this point. I might need to be re-explained to.
