I reckon AIs do dream of electric sheep

You’re opening a can of worms there. Apparently there are Djinns in the Marvel Universe

However, I don’t think they appeared in the movies. I mean, I wouldn’t know because I refuse to watch them, but I have never seen them in trailers or posters.

I’m quite adamant that A1 is not Red.

On turn 1, the Blue Team guessed the tiger on a goban correctly, and later missed, but the van Gogh style bunny playing against hamster was still on the board.

At that point, ā€œBaduk 3ā€ would have been a very strong clue: there were exactly 3 pictures that clearly had a goban and stones, and that did not need to grasp for abstractions in order to make a connection. This was not possible before because of the tiger, but that one was now gone.

Vsotvep could have gone for that without much risk, and have pocketed 3 whole points, instead of the much more ambiguous ā€œReptile 2ā€. I just don’t see how A1 fits, I really don’t like it as a guess.

Other than that, the genie is also a huge stretch, I mentioned it only as a curiosity.

I leave to you to choose whether A4 or B3 seems best. I’m slightly more inclined towards B3 but would be fine with either you decide.

I’m sorry I’ll not be able to provide much discussion in the next 3 days. I’ll be going on vacation for the weekend (be back by Tuesday). I’ll try to keep up but feel free to move the game forward if I’m not readily available.

Anyway, see y’all soon.

I honestly don’t have a strong opinion.

Let’s try

Red guesses B3

and if we get it right great! If we get a blue or neutral, we might find out which team martin is on

B3 is Blue. This ends Red’s turn.

Komoku 9

Oops, my bad! Oh well, let’s see if we get another guess.

Not that sofiam can reply to explain, but if there’s 3 blue and the suggestion is to guess 9, then presumably guessing neutrals doesn’t end the turn the way guessing the opposite colour does.

but then ^. So does it make sense to pick a number above the number of your own teams colours that are left?

Guessing Neutral does end the turn

Indeed saying ā€œ9ā€ is functionally equivalent to saying ā€œ3ā€ in this case.

In the first post I was lazy and wrote ā€œThe number must be between 1 and 9.ā€ rather than ā€œThe number must be between 1, and the number of remaining pictures of the Team’s colourā€, so this is legal.

Pinging @yebellz and @Jade_9000 so they know it’s Blue Team’s turn.

Oh no no no, this rule is ok as it is. Please don’t change that. There is a lot of potential for strategy. I can think of several conventions one could follow…

The potential for such strategies is precisely the reason why the number should be limited

(in the most extreme case, giving a 25-bit number would be pretty useful )

I’m not necessarily against conventions, but I’m strongly against using the position of the pictures. If we wanted to be really strict about this, we could have the Team Leader seeing only a shuffled version of the set of 25 pictures, and communicating their hints to a game master who would then relay their hints on this thread.

I was thinking of more natural sounding conventions. For example, using 9 to convey information about the dark picture, or things like that.

It would in fact be best if the convention used by each team was public. That way you assure that no one is using coordinates. But of course, that would have required some setup.

I just think it could have been interesting.

Maybe 9 is just meant to be ignored…

Komoku is the 3-4 point, so is that meant to be a spatial hint?

It seems that C2, B3, D3, and C4 are like 3-4 points, in a somewhat degenerate sense…

What do you think, @Jade_9000? Should we just guess the three remaining of those?

I reckon so - she’s calculating the odds I imagine. I vote D3 for no real reason.
