I am big fan of these Mongolian Rock songs. Really love the band “Altan Urag”. If anyone has similar tastes where the folk and rock is mixed. Or loves folk Mongolian in general, please do share your fav songs with me.

Oh, while I’m here …

A wonderful playlist: “A. R. Rahman Meets Berklee”

(I have possibly shared this before here  :man_shrugging:)

YES! i love this music… I actually have a Spotify playlist of all kinds of throat singing, mainly Mongolian and Tuvan throat singing! However, i typically prefer the more traditional vibes myself. It just hits different for me…

Spotify playlist is here!

Nice playlist, I recognize some of those names.

I am not sure if you;ve heard of this band named “Egschiglen”, I think you’ll love their work, here’s a sample, YouTube Music

They are very folk.

I’m afraid these are only receivable in Germany and France … but maybe otherwise with use of a VPN?

Awesome choir music gave me goosebumps (and I don’t usually get bumped by geese :winking_face_with_tongue:)!

Many years ago - wow it’s been 11 years! I just checked - John Oliver made a video about the “Salmon Cannon” in which I liked his comment/phrase “we can do great things” and it stuck with me. Sometimes other things remind me of that phrase and one of them is this:

It is almost impossible for me to listen to this performance without smiling… what an idea, perfectly executed.

I love Bill Bailey… he’s been a favourite comedian of mine since my teenage years, and I was extremely fortunate to get to see him live a few years ago. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.

Just too nice tune not to share it with everyone

I was very surprised when I had this tab in background and then suddenly the embedded YouTube video switched to The Ronettes singing “Be My Baby:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Has this happened to others also or is it some YouTube setting on my side?

<edit>
Oh wait, you linked to a Playlist … so that explains it, I think.

Thanks for introducing me to The Village Stompers. I never heard of them, which surprises me because my dad was a walking encyclopedia of jazz, blues, and pop music, and I grew up bathed in Dixieland jazz (as well as classical music). I well remember “Suspicion,” which came out when I was 10 and got a transistor radio for my birthday. I also remember “Cathy’s Clown,” which was often on the radio back in the day. Great songs, but I don’t have time to listen to all 150 songs in this mix.

Edit: This is weird. The Playlist now shows 200 songs instead of 150. That probably explains why @trohde heard two different songs than I did after the Stompers.

Sorry, didn’t realise it was a playlist. Understandable that you don’t have time to all of it.

Oh, I for one wasn’t criticizing it, not at all :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Just wanted to express my astonishment!
