October was a hectic month, but at least my obligations took me to some nice places
Greece in autumn, maybe a week after heavy rains, is the most beautiful landscape I know.
Autumn (September-October) and spring (April-early May) are the best times to visit this country, especially if you plan on not visiting the “tourist trap” areas everyone knows and goes too. You cannot really hike or have a nice walk during August in the blistering sun … or, maybe, you can, but you have to be used to it.
Else this happens (I am still not sure if this was a joke or not)
Although I didn’t understand a word of it, I am fairly sure this is not a joke (unless the Greek/Danish have a really weird different sense of humour).
The music is very sad, the speaker speaks in a voice from the grave, at the end the speaker rubs sun tan on a person, places him under a parasol, … but what really gave it away was that this is a message by the Danish Cancer Society.
I think it is intended to be humorous whilst also containing a serious message. That would be very ordinary. The “serious” attitude of the narrator seems to me to be melodrama, which is what underpins the humour. I wouldn’t say the humour is “weird”; I did find it mildly amusing.
I think it’s brilliant.
There’s English subtitles if you click the little gear in the menu.
I’m pretty sure it’s both humorous and serious at the same time. If it wasn’t created by the Danish cancer association, I’d have guessed it was made by a late-night talkshow.
And Danish humour is very dry, so that fits as well ![]()
Ah, deadly serious humour.
Yesterday was a perfect winter day
I like the clouds and the light differences and how at some point it seems like a square of light is hovering in the middle while the fog is on the edges of the picture
Put a handle on it, and you have a fan club.
not our typical winter sky … I was late in climbing up the roof, it was even better earlier.
also, not a typical winter day … social distancing done right
For the record, our house is less than 4km from the sea, so it’s highly unusual to snow.
On the other hand, this is the beach
(photo not mine)
You moved to Iceland without telling anyone???
Don’t judge my technique, I’m sea people.
(also my soul almost left my body in seconds and my hands are purple)
That is a seriously cute snow being
Wow! You all live in such beautiful places. My home is just dull and boring.
The snow is melting in the hills … the plains are free of it … and the beach is just a little further away. It was a nice day for some bicycle. I think we found only two people during the whole hour.
Makes you wonder sometimes why the central government bothered with imposing our town with extra social distancing measures
