I believe we’re currently mixing a discussion about alternative rules with the game discussion. This thread is the actual game thread, so it would be nice if the discussion about rule variation would be moved to the appropriate topic, which is this one if I’m not mistaken:
Inspired by fractional colourings of graphs, which is the subject of my bachelor thesis, I would like to introduce a new variant of multiplayer go where stones have multiple colours.
Capture Rule
The colours of a stone not only change how the game looks, but also have relevance in the rules. For each colour the chains are determined individually. After every move, chains with no liberties are captured. Note that chains of a specific colour can include stones of different players, if they share…
(actually, seems that one is about the non-simultaneous variant, maybe we should create a separate thread for the simultaneous variant)

benjito’s question was in reply to my post.
EDIT: Or maybe not! My bad for assuming.
In my suggested variant, if the white chain at E18 from our game lost all its liberties, only the white fraction of E18 would be captured and a blue/black stone would remain on the board.

Getting back on topic, how do my teammates in Team Black feel about how the game has been going so far?
Even with how things unfolded in the top right corner, I’m liking this board for black.

I should probably try something in the lower-left corner next.

Ah don’t feel bad I’m just really slow at learning new games (that’s why I play Go where there’s like 4 rules )
Thanks for clarifying!

I think I submitted the wrong move by accident, but oh well…

@mafidufa , may I ask for your help at M4 or N5? Capturing some of the surrounding white stones would also work, but I think connecting our black chain is easiest.
I can help in that area. My first stone on the right side of the board.

Thanks, that one stone helped a lot. More help is welcome, but if you can think of other stuff to do, I think I’m alright, at least for now.

I’m very intrigued - especially by the fight in the lower-right

Can’t decide if the lower left or lower right is more urgent for me…
