Yeah my bad, it never made it in…
well the good news at least is that the new SVG renderer may resolve a lot of the blockers from the old PR. Namely, blurriness should be better, and we’re no longer constrained to placing stones in a fixed square.
A good one for the “new developer” list actually.

I was more expecting with slight stone displacements caused by the rotation.
and if you quickly rotate it too many times in a row, the stones slide off the goban altogether!!
I was going to make a joke about adding a flip table button, but I did a search and see that I already suggested it above
I was thinking all rotation possible. Like a gyroscope.
More bling for paying users (can disable in your browser by signing up as a paying user):
- Announcers when something happens (unreal tournament “M-m-m-monster kill!” etc)
- Custom board backgrounds and stone textures
- LVS (“Least Valuable Stone”) award handed out in chat at the end of the match to the play that the AI rates as the worst.
Imagine “D-d-d-decaennea kill!!” [1] when you capture a dragon.
Isn’t this already a thing? I’ve never experimented with it.
I propose the algorithm throw you an easy match after a losing streak, as a morale booster
(I mean more so than Glicko already would, or maybe lie about the rank – wow you beat a 4D, keep it up!)
Somehow I suspect that algorithm is already in effect
add this button to “/play” page
it would instantly accept random challenge from custom page or pair you with anyone who wait in auto-match now. If no challenges available, it would create custom challenge with random standard settings or will start auto-match waiting with random settings.
I thought this was a button to play at a random location on the board lol
