- It was probably always considered slightly worse for White
- It’s a pain to diagram because of the capture

Actually, I’m not sure the last one – that is to say (8) – is joseki, even though I play it pretty frequently. It has about 30 games in Waltheri. You could leave it out.

A way to select could be to use a pattern recognition on a bunch of amateur games.
